This week in our series "Ekklesia," we explore God's heart of compassion as revealed throughout scripture. We see that God is slow to anger, rich in love, and full of mercy. His actions set the standard for how we, as the church, should respond to a hurting world. We were challenged to reflect Christ's love in every interaction and be a church known for its compassion. During the second week in our Series "Ekklesia," we talked about the importance of community and fellowship, drawing inspiration from the early church as depicted in Acts 2:42-47. We were encouraged to engage in community through participation in group activities, shared interests, and dedicated prayer, mirroring the early church's devotion to teachings, mutual support, and joyful generosity. When we commit to following Jesus' teachings and live out our faith in supportive and connected fellowship, we can deepen our relationship with God and others.

In week one of our new series, “Ekklesia," we explored the foundation of the church as a community of Jesus' followers dedicated to worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. We reflected on the early church’s imperfections and challenges. Despite these challenges, we saw that God can work through any church's flaws. We were challenged to be bold, powerful witnesses of Jesus’ message through both words and actions by living our lives with integrity, humility, and unity - so that all people will come to know Jesus.

This weekend, we took a look back on where Hope started, reflected on all that God has done over the past 25 years, and now we look forward to all that God has for us. From the beginning, we have trusted that God has a plan, and His plan is good - and we are continuing to raise our hands, saying, "Here I am. Send me!"

During our second week of Advent, we read in Luke Chapter 2 about how the shepherds in the field were the first to hear about the birth of Jesus from angels. Ordinary, marginalized people were chosen to be the first to receive the news of the Messiah's arrival in Bethlehem. As we talked about the wonder and awe that the shepherds must have experienced, we were challenged to share the joy and wonder of our faith with others through personal stories, the way we live, and inviting others to experience the good news.
